Design

Architecture is unique among the arts in that it must be eminently practical and efficiently meet a challenging array of client needs, building codes and budgets. Yet if there is not a strong aesthetic vision driving the design concept reflected in every aspect of the final product, then the architect has not done his job. The extra effort embodied in Wallant's services reflects the continual trip back to the creative well, throughout the process, to ensure that every project is our best work, no matter how humble, or what the budget.

Each project taken on at Wallant Architecture is unique and receives a fresh design approach - after the client's needs are heard and understood. This process is filtered by the architect's many years of training and experience but the goal is always to bring excellence to each client's program, within the budget. This effort begins with the earliest stages of programming and design, and continues through the creation of a rigorously coordinated set of construction drawings.

Trained at Yale during the Historicist Revival of the 1970's Scott Wallant's original firm was known for imaginative interpretations of traditional design, especially the Classical and Craftsman Styles. Steve Janenka, an RPI graduate and former Design/Build timber framer who joined Wallant in the 90's, has helped make Timber Frame another specialty of the house. And we love designing pure Modern projects when we meet a client who shares that passion.

Each project taken on at Wallant Architecture is unique and receives a fresh design approach - after the client's needs are heard and understood. We'll create something new out of your favorite architectural style, or you may turn us loose to let us inspire you with the unexpected.
